Recitals and parties are great get-togethers for my piano studio. I hold several throughout the year, some being for the whole studio, some being for small groups. Halloween and Valentine parties are held for elementary age students. These two events include a short recital where each student plays one piece, followed by treats and crafts. Whole families attend and these events include younger siblings very well.
Some recitals are more formal and are longer, and are geared for students preparing for an event outside the studio, such as Certificate of Merit, a concerto competition or a sonata contest. In general, the longest recital I plan lasts 45 minutes, and the shortest recital could be 15 minutes.
