Preparing for Certificate of Merit

Here are a few video clips of high school students preparing music for our California state exam, Certificate of Merit. These students are participating in the Advanced Level of Certificate of Merit. There are ten levels in this program and it is helpful to me as a teacher to enter my students in this event because I hold myself responsible for teaching a certain amount of material and information each year. The Certificate of Merit program is basically a broad curriculum which prepares students in all areas of music: performance, technic, sight reading, ear training and theory.
